Chloe Johnson
As an artist, I enjoy to draw inspiration from comfort. I want my art to evoke comfort or nostalgia. My process is heavily inspired from my back ground of charcoal drawing, it was a medium I found worked well for me and came somewhat easy which lead to a transition to oil painting. Most of my influence is from physical things around me that feel like comfort, like my first couch in my first apartment. Using two mediums I love with objects I find comfort in, make the pieces I create feel easy. The need to create comfort I think comes from my major of Art Therapy. Knowing what art therapy can provide, drives me to create that sense in others. I hope to allow others to tap into the nostalgia and comfortability that I feel from these.

Art Therapy ‘23
Chloe Johnson is mainly a painter with a past in charcoal drawing. She found her love of art at a very young age and continued doing art lessons outside of school as well as her school art classes. She continued her art journey at Tyler School of Art and Architecture, where she majored in Art Therapy. She mainly creates abstract work with oil paints, but loves to be able to paint still lifes or realistic charcoal drawings. She draws inspiration from her life around her and memories she wants to treasure forever. Chloe is set to graduate with a BA in Art Therapy in December 2023 and is excited where this journey will take her.
