Claudia paints still lives using symbolism, text, and titles to un-romance concepts of love. The work is informed by modernist poetic devices and daily observation.

Claudia Carlson holds a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. She has worked as direct support for artists with disabilities at the progressive art studio ArtWorking in Madison, Wisconsin. She was a Museum Educator at the Chazen Museum of Art. Her work has exhibited nationally and has been featured in Vice News, Mudita Magazine, and 45th Parallel Literary Magazine.
