Season 2 Coming This Fall

We’re excited to announce season 2 of Monument Biography!

Starting October 5th, new episodes will be released every two weeks.

What makes a monument? Is it a statue, a building, a marker where something important in history happened? Or can a monument be temporary, or something that changes every time you visit it?

In this season, our producers visit a host of new sites around Philadelphia, including public art like the portal at Philadelphia City Hall, and the complicated story behind an installation at the city's police headquarters.

We also visit more ephemeral spaces such as Graffiti Pier on the Schuylkill River and the Persian Pavilion, an exhibition space constructed by Iran during the Philadelphia 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition. And we go beyond Philadelphia, taking field trips to New York City to chase the ghost of the legendary Palladium Nightclub and visit Cleopatra's Needle, an ancient Egyptian obelisk that stands in New York's Central Park. And that's not all.

We will also include bonus content, revisiting monuments and stories from our first season.
