Sarah Frank

“I use art as a tool to make sense of the emotions I find difficult to express with words. While the imagery in my works does not always relate to how I feel while I am creating, I find peace within the creative process itself, rather than the finished product or image. My finished work represents my imagination: a dream world, or a glimpse of the opposite of reality. My inspiration comes from media such as books and movies and the world around me, specifically nature and plant life. When drawing my main subjects include human beings, real people in my life, fictional characters in shows, or original characters from my imagination. I have explored and experimented with many materials in my work, but the imagery usually remains planted in the fun, fantastical, and eclectic style. Artmaking is what I am meant to be doing on this earth, and through artmaking, I hope to connect and help others find similar peace in the creative process.”
